Summer Picnic Tips

    Make picnic foods interesting. Try foods other than sandwiches.

  • Avoid fragile foods. They won’t keep very well in your picnic hamper.
  • Only take as much food as needed for the picnic. Leftover food will spoil out in the hot sun.
  • Use coolers and ice to keep food fresh.
  • Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunblock.
  • Always take your garbage home with you.
  • Handwipes or babywipes come in handy for sticky messes.
  • Carry a blanket to sit on.
  • If you have bottles don’t forget the bottle opener.
  • Pick up extra ice for your cooler and drinks.
  • Try not to use mayonnaise as it can go bad in the heat.
  • Keep yourself hydrated with water.
  • Take a frisbee, kite or other game for picnic fun.
